The Seagull Nebula, if we could see it with our eyes, would appear to be seven times larger than the moon. In actuality, it is about 100 light years across and is located about 3,700 light years away from earth. Also known as IC 2177, the gull is a large emission nebula located in the constellations Monoceros and Canis Major. I captured this image in early January 2025. It includes over 13 hours of exposure time.
